Book 3: B.B.’s New Horizons

Have Dog Will Travel

🐾

Have Dog Will Travel 🐾

This book may be the most humorous so far due to the third trip detailed in it which just so happened to be Trip 13 in this series — very appropriate number! The places we took dog vacations to were quite diverse and some were long distances which made for longer journeys. The first trip was New Orleans. Then in June we had a longer road trip with B.B. to visit two places we’d never been — Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. But perhaps the funniest and longest dog vacation was the next one from July into August which was all the way from Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada! The things that happened daily weren’t funny at the time, but over the years, we came to consider them quite laughable. That trip is sure to be entertaining to anyone who reads this book, and many people will relate to some of what took place as they may have experienced similar situations on one of their forays to new, unfamiliar places. All of these dog vacations were fun in the end and when we looked back upon them. And it is my hope that the readers will find this book as funny and involving as the others in the first series and this newer one.

Book 2: B.B. and the Rides of Our Lives

Have Dog Will Travel

🐾

Have Dog Will Travel 🐾

If you love dogs, this memoir was written especially for you by a fellow dog lover. “B.B. and the Rides of Our Lives” transports the reader on six journeys called “dog vacations,” traveling with Carolyn, Kel, and their beloved dog, B.B., whom they adopted from their local humane society shelter. First in line is up to Cedar Point Amusement Park on Lake Erie near Sandusky, Ohio, to ride the roller coasters, followed by a longer trip to Grand Teton National Park in Utah as well as way up to near the Canadian border to tour Glacier National Park in Montana; the next trek is over to Estes Park, Colorado, for a stay at the “haunted” Stanley Hotel;  then an excursion back to Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma during the fall foliage season; out to Tucson, Arizona, to ride in the El Tour de Tucson bicycle “race”; and winding up way down in Key West for a Christmas to remember! The reader will be road-tripping to these places and all the villages, small towns, and large cities. So, pack your bags to experience all the humor, fun, adventure, joy, love, and best rides of your life!

Guaranteed to make you feel good, this first book in the new series will appeal to previous readers and new readers alike. Being an only dog now, B.B. blossoms and Carolyn and Kel experience so much more of her sweet personality and intelligence than ever before. She enjoys all the attention lavished on her by the people they meet everywhere they go. The four trips covered are all out west: Gunnison and Telluride, Colorado, Cayucos, California on the central coast, The Telluride Film Festival and Tucson ,Arizona for the road bicycling extravaganza called El Tour de Tucson and all points in between. There's also a lot more revealed about Kel and Carolyn's personalities. Where they went, whom they met, what they did, surprises and fun that happened.

5 Star Reviews

Fantastic Read, for all dog lovers these books are a must

I read all three books in the Dog Vacations series. I truly enjoyed each book! Carolyn writes a wonderful story about her family and their vacations. Her stories are detailed, easy to read and allow you to feel like you are along for the journey. Anyone who has dogs in their family know the laughs that come with being a pet owner. Bea and BB remind me so much of my own fur babies when we travel in our RV on adventures! These are great reads and I highly recommend all three books!

You can tell from the start that these are awesome dog parents. The trips had me both in awe and laughing.

This book was like a breath of fresh air in the midst of the current world pandemic. A wonderful and easy read that I could not put down, I felt like I was a passenger in the adventures of Carolyn, Kel, and their sweet (and sometimes unpredictable) dogs, Bea and B.B.!

The second book in the series 🐾

Book Two continues the saga of Bea and B.B., adopted shelter dogs, taking six more unforgettable journeys with their human companions, Kel and Carolyn. This time they road trip to Big Sur in California, through many neighboring states, and a national park, as well as shorter trips to places not too far beyond their borders and state parks close to their home in Oklahoma.

A different sort of dog book series

Carolyn writes in a familiar tone, drawing you along on their vacations. Dog lovers and fans of travel off the beaten path will be intrigued.

Book 3: Bea and B.B.’s Last Four Dog Vacations

The third book in the series

🐾

The third book in the series 🐾

The last book in the series takes the reader from Labor Day weekend 2006 through the year with four trips which wind up after Labor Day weekend 2007. Many new cities, towns, and attractions are visited: Lubbock, Texas; Carlsbad Caverns and Las Cruces, New Mexico, Palm Springs and Napa, California; and Moab, Utah. There are more national parks in several states visited also. There’s even a holiday trip where the girls and we experience a Christmas like no other.

New quirks and surprises will show as Bea and B.B.'s personalities bloom and change. More is divulged about Kel's and my personalities, quirks, and backgrounds as well. Much laughter, poignancy, adventure, and love are throughout as in the first two books of the series. This one has some harrowing moments also.
